In precision engineering, Malaysia has some catching up to do. Today, most precision molds and die sets for semiconductors firms (except for National Semiconductor Electronics) is served by the vendors in Japan, South Korea and the US, but a Pulau Pinang based company recently made a breakthrough.

Prodelcon Sdn Bhd located at Lintang Sungai Pinang is the first independent precision machining operation in Malaysia with high-precision capability to support the semiconductor industry. It will provide precision machining services in tool steel and tungsten carbide steel as well as design and engineering support in the fabrication of precision molds, tools and dies.
